Motivation

Why are you anti-Mormon? Aren’t Mormons good people? Why are you picking on them? Over the years we have been asked these and similar questions many times. They deserve an answer.

As difficult as it is for many people to accept, our motivation for this ministry is not rooted in fear or anger of Mormons, but in love for them.  This is difficult for many to see because much of what we do is to warn people about Mormonism.  And we don’t usually associate love with warnings. Hopefully the following illustration will help.

Suppose you were driving on a road during a stormy night.  You go around a curve when suddenly your headlights reveal that the bridge over a river had been washed away.  You screech to a halt with only a few feet to spare.  As your heart-rate returns to normal you realize that you need to go back before the curve so that you can warn others.  How callous, how loveless it would be if, instead, you decided to walk away and not bother to warn others.

It is our conviction that the bridge of Mormonism is out – that the teachings of Mormonism will not carry people to God but rather will cause them to crash into the abyss of hell.  In the following articles we lay out some of the reasons that convince us that Mormonism is false.  In the teaching section of this website we explore these in depth.  We do this all motivated by love because we want to warn people before it is too late.

But we don’t just want to warn people about Mormonism.  We also want to point them to the one and only safe bridge, Jesus Christ.  Pointing out the dangers of Mormonism to Mormons without also telling them about the blessings of free forgiveness and complete perfection in Jesus does them no good.

Our name truly sums up our ministry.  We want to speak the truth – the truth of the dangers of Mormonism but also the blessing of Christ – we want to speak those truths always motivated by love.
