Mormon Doctrine

Plan of Salvation (Chronological)

Conclusions

We have spent significant time and energy studying the chronology of the Mormon Plan of Salvation.  We have spent considerable effort understanding the differences between Mormon and Christian doctrine.  Why?

In order to witness to Mormons in a loving manner, we need to meet people where they are, not where we are.  We want to bring Mormons into God's word as much as is possible, so that his power contained in it can work the miracle of conversion.  By understanding their plan, we can offer to contrast the Christian  plan through shared Bible study.  However, many Mormons do not have the same understanding of their church's doctrine, especially in those areas where it doublespeaks.  By understanding official church doctrine, we can first establish what their church teaches through its authoritative writings and then contrast it with the teaching of Christ as revealed in his authoritative writing (the Holy Bible).

We could make an analogy to a person lost in a maze. This person may be earnestly seeking to find his or her way, but is confused by the maze. We could shout from the outside, telling them of our wonderful life outside the maze. But how much more helpful could we be by first learning the maze and then entering it and leading the person out.
